Public Information Meeting

The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (Metro) held a public meeting on December 17, 2008, to inform the community about the development of a regional set of Metro bus stop guidelines under the Development of Guidelines for the Design and Placement of Transit Stops project.

These guidelines will assist WMATA and its member jurisdictions in applying a more uniform method for stop location and design.  The current spacing of stops along routes, and the impact of consolidating bus stops along corridors where stops are currently spaced very close together, will also be examined as part of this project.

The purpose of the meeting was to provide information about the project to the community and to gather input from the public for regional Metrobus stop guidelines.  Materials which were distributed and presented at this meeting can be found on the Public Meeting Materials page of this Web site.

Public input is still welcome.  We invite your responses to a survey which can be downloaded in PDF format, printed out, filled out, and returned by mail or fax.  Alternately, the survey can be downloaded in plain text format, completed electronically, and returned by email as an attachment or pasted into the body of the email message.  If you prefer not to use the survey form, your emailed comments are also welcome.
